Topic: The virtues found in Zakat/Sadaqah

Surah Al-Taubah (9:103) - Zakah

خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ صَلَوٰتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Take, [O Muḥammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. 

The zakat was originally to purify the property. God will replace something better with what we put out. Zakat will only increase our wealth instead of reducing it.

Zakat of Islam :

Ibadah Qalbiyyah: Worship that involves the heart

Ibadah badaniyyah: Worship that moves the body

Ibadah Maaliyyah: Worship that involves property/material

Which combines the above three acts of worship are: Hajj

1-Tawakkul (ReliQalbiyyah Worship: Worship that involves the heart

Zakat is a test until tawakal and to test human faith.

The test for Tawakkul

- Wanna see people like this, do not want to share money with other people

- Sincerely or not, when it comes to zakat

- Allah s.w.t will replace what we have released to help other people.

- not only zakat, alms etc. also Allah will reward with reward.

2- Ukhuwwah (Brotherhood)

- Zakat strengthens our relationship with other human beings, namely ukhuwwah islamiyyah because zakat makes society a big family because the person who gives zakat means he has helped the poor or needy.

- When a person pays zakat, indirectly he has helped the poor. As Allah says in surah al-Qasas, verse 77 regarding the occurrence of Ihsan. Can extinguish the nature of envy and jealousy between the poor and the rich.
